Over the years, we’ve become adept at finding new uses for existing buildings.
A few years ago, we were invited to review a holiday park that had grown organically as demand increased.
The client felt that certain facilities were in the wrong location. One in particular lacked views of the loch (at the time of our visit, the space was being used for indoor bowling).
Immediately we knew what we could create if the client was open to it and fortunately, we were in sync. What we didn’t realise at first was just how invested the client was in providing first-class facilities. This was a client who had already committed to sustainability, with hydro power and biomass boilers powering the park.
We carried out detailed space planning and incorporated all of the client’s requirements. We then explored a reduced footprint, resulting in an energy-efficient, visually striking building. One that ultimately cost a similar amount to the larger refurbishment originally considered.
The result? Guests can now enjoy stunning loch views while dining and relaxing in the new bar and restaurant.
Sometimes the client really does know what they want, they just need the right team to help them achieve it.
